MEET CHRIS
Chris has been involved in athletics throughout her life. As an NCAA Division I collegiate tennis player at Jacksonville University and former Maryland State Singles Champion, she learned early the value of structured training, consistency and good coaching.
As a USA Cycling Level 2 Certified Coach, Chris brings that experience to KASS, helping athletes train with purpose, set realistic goals and get the most out of their time on the bike. Her coaching philosophy is simple: provide structure, motivation and individualized guidance while keeping each athlete’s goals at the center of the process.
Chris also brings years of competitive cycling experience to her coaching. As a former USA Cycling Category 1 racer, she competed at the national level throughout the U.S. and abroad and earned multiple Mid-Atlantic championship titles, including Time Trial, Masters Criterium and Masters 45+ Champion.
Most importantly, Chris believes training should be
challenging, rewarding — and fun.

MEET FRED
Fred has been part of cycling for decades. A former custom frame builder and owner of Alpine Cycles, he brings a wealth of hands-on cycling and mechanical experience to Kelley Acres Speed Shop. An accomplished cyclist in his own right, Fred is a former District Time Trial Champion with numerous road racing victories.
Behind the scenes, Fred plays an essential role in keeping KASS running. From maintaining the trainers and equipment to troubleshooting whatever decides not to cooperate, he helps make sure everything is ready when it's time to train. His support allows Chris to focus on developing the workouts, coaching athletes and managing the training programs.
And Fred's need for speed doesn't stop with bicycles. He has carried that competitive spirit into building and racing Factory Five race cars.
Most importantly, Fred keeps KASS running — and keeps Chris running.

When we're not coaching, training or keeping KASS running, we're also a husband-and-wife real estate team with more than 30 years of experience helping buyers and sellers throughout Maryland.
